Josh Tonsager is the Senior Professional Staff for the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry under Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow.  Previously he was the staff director of the General Farm Commodities and Risk Management Subcommittee of the House Agriculture Committee under Chairman David Scott. Prior to his positions with the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, he served as the Vice President of Policy and Communications for the National Association of Wheat Growers and a Legislative Assistant to former U.S. Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota. He began his career with the National Farmers Union after receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Political Science from the University of South Dakota. He comes from a family farm near Oldham, SD.
