Our 11,000 family farmers support more than 151,000 good jobs across more than 2 dozen states. We contribute $23.3 billion annually to the U.S. economy.
3. American-made sugar is good for consumers
We’ve invested heavily in a strong domestic supply chain to ensure that our customers – from food manufacturers to everyday Americans stocking their pantry – always have sugar available.
In many rural areas, the sugar industry is the cornerstone of local and regional economies. In some cities, it is often one of the few remaining manufacturing employers. The survival of many American communities is tied to the survival of local sugar operations.
American sugar producers are efficient and meet some of the highest labor, environmental, and food quality standards in the world. Producers utilize all parts of the crop to reduce waste and create beneficial co-products.
