American Sugar Alliance Thanks Trump Administration for Harvest Fuel Relief Program

The American Sugar Alliance issued the following statement on the announcement of the Harvest Fuel Relief program:

“Our farmers are grateful for President Donald Trump’s continued leadership on the issues affecting the viability of their family farms, and the recent announcement of the Harvest Fuel Relief program will provide valuable assistance at a critical time. American sugarbeet and sugarcane farmers are dealing with high input costs, including diesel costs, and the continued threat of a flood of over-quota foreign sugar undercutting our producers. Sugarbeets and sugarcane are both unique commodities that require specialized practices during harvest and timely transportation to mills and factories. We look forward to working with USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins to address the particular challenges of sugar production and to efficiently manage fuel costs so our producers can continue delivering American-made sugar.”
